A Brief Grouse

Thought I'd better put something on my blog as it's been two weeks since my last post. There's a good reason for this - I've been on holiday in Scotland! As a result of this, I went for 15 days without seeing an owl, although I did try whilst I was away! I've come back with a stack of photos to process - probably more than I expected. This is not because the photography was good, but because the weather was dire, so I had to take masses of images in the hope that I'd get a good one amongst them. I hope to put up the first part of my images from the holiday at the weekend, or shortly after, but in the meantime, here is a Grouse! - see what I mean about the weather!

  2. Thank you John. This was our third visit to Speyside in fifteen months, plus we were on Mull for a week in May, so it's not difficult to guess that we love it too !!!

  3. Hi Richard

I went to Scotland this summer for a week and although it was a wonderful experience, I saw zero owls! It wasn't for a lack of trying. Tons of buzzards though!

Lovely tones in your Grouse shot Richard.

  5. Thank you Christian and Phil. As you will see, when I get round to posting my 'report' on the Scotland stay, colour was difficult to find under the leaden skies. The dominance was of greys and browns! However, although most of the heather flowers were finished, there was still some colour on the moorlands - pity that there was not much more than Red Grouse seen in this particular environment!
