I hope you are better soon, although the good weather appears to be breaking now.

Thank you for your very kind comments.

Our female GSW is now visiting very frequently - we saw her five times before mid-day one day! We're pretty sure that she is feeding young. I've now got some more photos, so there may be another post on 'Woodina' soon!Richard Peglerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05115206853645323899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2300766267906463889.post-12290642289021626042013-05-08T15:01:36.580+01:002013-05-08T15:01:36.580+01:00Wonderful photos Richard and I'm still astound...Wonderful photos Richard and I'm still astounded by 40 owl sites!!! Love the garden bird photos too. I only saw Bramblings briefly in mine this winter and Bullfinch and GSWs are only very occasional visitors, I have seen them both on the sunflower hearts though. The Sparrowhawk is a magnificent bird but my heart does tend to sink when it sets its sights on my garden yet again. They do say it's the sign of a healthy, well balanced garden though!

I'm completely with you on the cows. I never used to be bothered about them but some years ago while walking with a dog on a lead I found them to be very menacing and a woman who lives locally was extremely badly hurt by a herd a couple of years ago! Like you I have read several other similar reports too. I think they are probably most threatening when they have calves with them.

I have missed all of the recent good weather through being unwell hence no posts :-(
ShySongbirdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08148381873578585910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2300766267906463889.post-63067437166245437712013-05-07T09:57:26.490+01:002013-05-07T09:57:26.490+01:00Sorry Stewart!!Sorry Stewart!!Richard Peglerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05115206853645323899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2300766267906463889.post-68838514180708131342013-05-07T09:26:52.498+01:002013-05-07T09:26:52.498+01:00Hi there - I'd import The Lakes to Australia i...Hi there - I'd import The Lakes to Australia if I could - but I make do as best as I can without it! In the past I have found that if I head for cows and act a bit agressive, they quickly back off. But I'm not so agile these days, so don't like to trust my luck.Richard Peglerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05115206853645323899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2300766267906463889.post-34397892540341406212013-05-05T21:05:44.034+01:002013-05-05T21:05:44.034+01:00A fantastic set of images Richard, the blog header...A fantastic set of images Richard, the blog header is one to die for too.
Cows are ok mate, a frined has a big herd and got me used to them, just don't clap (most people do this) as the farmer will clap and whistle when delivering feed so there is an association, don't run they'll run too, go up to nearest one and pat it you'll be ok, cows are extremely curious animals, like oversized dogs.Douglas Mcfarlanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12267360351215643395noreply@blogger.com
