Rutland Water on 18th August 2008

This was to be my last turn of duty at Rutland Water for 2008, due to other commitments. It proved to be unrewarding photographically, although a thoroughly enjoyable session as usual. I took my usual cross-country route to get there, stopping a couple of times en-route - once to attempt to photograph a Kestrel (not very successful) and then to watch gulls following a ploughing tractor.

The only thing that I managed to photograph with any degree of success at Rutland Water (and then not too good anyway) was this Little Egret.

There was a pleasant sunset at Queniborough on my way home.
