Went to Cossington Meadows again today (third evening in a row!), in the hope of getting some better owl images. Unfortunately the solitary Short-eared Owl seen was two fields over, and the only Barn Owl, seen briefly, came out when I had had a lapse in keeping my camera settings in tune with the rapidly failing light. All I managed was this fox - which I might have missed if Paul Riddle, on the opposite side of the hedge, hadn't warned me that it was coming - thank you Paul.
