Another of Dave Scattergood excellent birdwalks for Staffordshire. With our agreement, Dave diverted us from the advertised walk to show us a Black-throated Diver that he had found on nearby Branston Gravel Pits. The weather was absolutely foul - misty and heavily overcast for the whole time, and raining for most of the time, but we saw the Diver. In this weather, and at a great distance, I only managed 'record shots', but the diversion was worthwhile.
