Redpolls and Bramblings - w/e 15th January, 2011

At the back end of 2010 we were visited by Brambling and Redpoll. Happily these birds have continued to visit us on a 'several times a day' basis ever since. It soon became apparent that we'd got a pair of Brambling, and that there were two male Redpoll visiting us. However, on 13th, we had the two male Redpoll, then three females and what I believe to be an immature (only the slightest hint of red on the crown). Unfortunately I am in the middle of redoing our bedroom at the moment, so have had no time for serious attempts at better images - any spare time I've had being used to try and keep an eye on my owls. I could really do with a few hours in the garden in my hide! These are the best of a poor bunch - so far!

One of my neighbours has been telling me about the white-marked male Blackbird that seems to live in his garden. It visited us a couple of days ago (not seen it before). I managed to grab some shots from my window.
