I'd been getting concerned that I'd been seeing very few dragonflies during my excursions this year (although this seems to have changed in the last week), so I was particularly pleased when a female Broad Bodied Chaser appeared and settled in our garden. Having taken the side-on safety shot from the far side of the pond, I was able to approach it reasonably well.
