I visited Oakthorpe Colliery again, after an absence of just a couple of days. There were plenty of birds around - although nothing spectacular. I was, however, delighted to get some shots of a female Reed Bunting. I've plenty of photos of males, but this was my first reasonable encounter with an obliging female. I did see a grass snake, but it was too close for my lens to focus on (!) and, before I could back-off enough, it slithered away.
