My Garden on 5th & 6th January, 2010

Being a bit 'chesty' after a cold, I have not been out very much in the current weather.- very frustrating when there is snow and sunshine about! I did go to Oakthorpe Colliery to check the feeding station yesterday evening (glad I did, as there was no food out), and I did manage a walk out from home through the fields & woods this afternoon for an hour or so (not much seen - most exciting thing was a Snipe). I have, however, spent a couple of hours in my conservatory trying to improve on pics of the Pied Wagtail which has been visiting us now on a regular basis for a couple of weeks. I am concerned that it has shown aggression to our Grey Wagtail, which is now visiting us less frequently. Seems to be a lot of aggression in the garden at the moment - the Robin is playing havock with our Dunnocks. I find it impossible to get really sharp pics through the double-glazing of the conservatory (can't wait for my chair-hide to arrive - it's now three weeks late), but I'm reasonably happy with these of the Pied Waggy.
