Oban to Mull & Grass Point on 17th May 2009

As our ferry to Mull was not until late morning, we had tome for my wife to do some shopping, and for me to check out the harbour. The tide was in, and there was not much in the way of birds to see. However, there were some Black Guillemots around. Little was seen from the ferry to Mull, but there was a Lesser Black-backed Gull that hitched a ride on the ferry. On arrival in Mull, we had lunch at a pub in Craignure before heading off to Grass Point, where our cottage would be ready for us at 16.00. As we entered the road to Grass Point, we found Red-breasted Merganser, and Common Sandpiper by the bridge at Leth-fhonn. Later on we were to find that this was a good place to observe Hen Harrier and White Tailed Sea Eagle. On arrival at the cottage, there was plenty of interest in the vicinity.
