Another tun of duty on Osprey watch at Rutland Water took me to Shallow Water and Waderscrape hides on the Lyndon side of the reserve. At Shallow Water I had my first sighting of Golden Plover for the secod half of the year. On the way to Waderscrape I put up some young Pheasants. I do think the marking on these youngsters is rather special.
At Waderscrape hide the Water Rails were showing well.
